Stable Spotlight - March 1997
by Deb Moore

I want to thank everyone who has sent in information on their favorite sires and dams! And I want to apologize to Harley White -- I missed her Spotlight for the last issue on rare breeds -- so we are going to go visit with her first.

Harley's first horse is her stallion, NFC Egyptian King's Silhouette. He is a dappled grey 32" American Miniature foaled in 1984. He is by the National Grand Champion/Leading Sire Of Champions, Hemlock Brook's Egyptian King [r] and out of Wilocages Precious [r]. This makes him a full brother to NFC Egyptian King's Contessa [r], 1989 National Champion Senior Mare and NFC Egyptian King's Heiress [r], 1992 Reserve National Champion Youth Junior Mare. He is the Breyer #3040 and has been shown to multi-Grand Champions against all breeds. His first foals were born in 1987.

Harley's second horse is the mare NFC Vertically Challenged who is by NFC Rowdy's Impressive and out of NFC's Champagne Lady. She is a 29 1/2" bay tobiano American Miniature foals in 1990. She is a H-R Mini Shetland repainted by her owner. Vertically Challenged is a live show placer and is open for 1995-1997. She is the dam of live and photo show champion Flying V Little Butterfly. Harley has other minis available. Fees are free to IPABRA members. Harley White, R.D. Box 73 C, Markleysburg, PA 15459

Next stop is with Lisa Roybal who wants to show us her mare, Dear Unknown. Dear Unknown is a beautiful black 1990 Danish Warmblood mare. She is the Breyer Lady Phase r/h with two front socks, and a star/snip combination that forms a crescent moon. Dear Unknown is by Pen & Ink and out for Clever Secret and has an extended pedigree available. Lisa's second horse is the black Holstein stallion, Belem (accent on the second E). He is by Sky Fire and out of Saucey and was bred at North Shore Stables. Thank you Lisa.

Next we are going to visit with Melissa Addison who has two sport horses. Her first horse is Haywire, a 1988 bay Morgan Sport Horse (1/2 Thoroughbred, 1/2 Morgan). He has placed very well at the live shows RMMHE and CSC Live. Melissa tells us she always places a card by him stating his cross. Haywire is the Breyer OF Gifted and is of course doing quite well in dressage. No NAN qualifiers yet, but Melissa is hopeful. Melissa's second horse is Indian Outlaw, a 1990 black tobiano Morgan Sport Horse. Indian Outlaw is the Breyer SR OF Art Deco and is also doing quite well in live shows. Fees for either of these stallions are 15 cents.

Now to visit down South, and on to see Kim Bjorgo. Kim sent in several suggestions for Sport Horses. It was hard to narrow down the choices to just two horses! Kim's first horse is *Tiburon (Heart of Darkness resin). He is the progenitor of 4 generations of Warmblood stallions, including some Appaloosa Sporthorses. *Tiburon is a 1975 chestnut Trakehner by the real stallion Condus and out of the real mare Themse II. He is a live and photo show champion (only 1 live show!) and was recently awarded the #1 position for the 1996 IPABRA Top Ten Thoroughbreds/Warmbloods! He has an extensive pedigree and as mentioned before, already had 4 generations of get. Some of the more well known get and grandget include Business Casual, Casual Affair, Daazner, and Wieskirche.

(Comment from Deb: "Neat, I have one of his great grandget!")

Kim's second horse is her Hanoverian stallion Goldmacher, the Breyer OF Hanoverian in chalky dapple grey. He is also a photo show champion, and was recently awarded the #2 position for the IPABRA 1996 Top Ten Thoroughbreds/Warmbloods. No huge lists of get yet, though he does have one exported Hanoverian mare to Sweden. Goldmacher is a 1975 stallion by Gotthard [r] and out of Aldergottin [r].

Now back to the Midwest to visit with my 'neighbor' Julia Lord would like to share with us Chardonnay (the horse, not the drink!) Chardonnay is a bay 1981 Selle Francais mare, the Breyer Touch Of Class OF. Her sire, the gorgeous model *Hide and Seek, was a multi Grand Champion in the early 80s. Her dam, Memoire, is by the real horse I Love You and is out of an Anglo-Arab mare who carries the bloodlines of *Nasrullah, *Alibhai, *Serafix, and *Raseyn. Her second horse Musigny is a 1976 Trakehner stallion. He is a Breyer LB Thoroughbred completely remade to a nice canter, and painted light dappled grey. He has real parents with old bloodlines including Flaneur, Maharadscha, Altan, and Mira.

Fraya Davis has two horses to share with us. The first is Kaiser-Lich, a Holstein stallion. He is a 1985 dapple grey CM Breyer Keen by owner and will be beginning his show career in 1997. Fraya's second horse is Quiet Mannerism, a 1990 grey Hanoverian mare. She is the OF North Light Irish Draft Horse and is a multi photo show champion and live show placer. Fraya is currently working on her pedigree and hopes to introduce her to performance classes this next show season.
